How to Transfer a Domain Away from GoDaddy
-
Sign in to your GoDaddy Domain Portfolio.
-
Select an individual domain to access the Domain Settings page.

- Under the Transfer section, toggle to 'Off' to unlock the domain.

- Click the link to 'Transfer to Another Registrar'

- On the next page, click the black button in bottom right that says 'Start Transfer.'
- (Domains with Domain Protection require additional identity verification. If you've had 2-step verification (2SV) turned on for at least 24 hours, enter the code we sent via SMS, or enter the code from your authenticator app. Otherwise, enter the one-time password we sent to the email address on your GoDaddy account.)
- Select 'Click here to see Authorization Code', select Copy to Clipboard to copy your authorization code and email it to [email protected]. You should also receive an email with your auth code, and you can forward that to us.
- After the domain is unlocked and the authorization code shared we can transfer to our registrar, at which point you'll receive an email from GoDaddy asking to confirm the transfer.
- You'll need to approve the transfer (click here for instructions).
After approval, it can take a week for it to complete.
